Anamaria Ferentz – My Story

I was born on a cold December day in Romania, a land of ancient legends, misty forests, and tales of Dracula whispered through the mountains. December 14th, a date I proudly share not only with Nostradamus but, more dearly, with my late beloved grandmother, Chita. From the very beginning, my life seemed destined to be shaped by mystery, dreams, and a deep yearning for something beyond the visible horizon.

Music found me before I could even form full sentences. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing, it was as natural to me as breathing. There was a small spark inside me that no one could quite explain, but everyone around me could feel. That spark led me to pursue formal training, studying Canto at the School of Arts, theatre and musical at Acting Music-Hall Faculty, and pedagogy at Musical Pedagogy College. I wasn’t content to simply have a voice; I wanted to master the craft, to understand every emotion, every story a song could carry.

The path to where I am today was not always smooth. There were days of doubt, nights of tears, and moments when the weight of dreams seemed almost too heavy to carry. But no matter how fierce the storms, my passion for music was fiercer. Through perseverance and faith, I was blessed with opportunities to perform alongside some of Romania’s most celebrated artists. Those moments, standing on grand stages, hearing the applause, seeing the connection in people’s eyes — they were more than milestones. They were pieces of a dream coming true, piece by piece.

Still, I always knew my story had more pages to be written elsewhere. In 2010, I took the biggest leap of my life: I moved to the United States. Alone, with a heart full of hope and a suitcase full of music, I began again. It was a reinvention, a rebirth. Every festival stage, every private event, every tour across the country or abroad became a new chapter, each performance a reminder that the language of music is universal and the power of dreams knows no borders.

Today, I continue to create music straight from the heart, inspired by every lesson life has taught me along the way. I am currently pouring my soul into my new album “ Dance for Me”, one that I cannot wait to share with the world, is a reflection of who I am now and the extraordinary journey that brought me here.
